About NIT Patna
NIT Patna was laid in 1886 as Bihar School of Training, which was later renamed Bihar College of Engineering in 2004. The National Institute of Technology Patna or NIT Patna is now a fully autonomous technical institute functioning directly under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NIT Patna is one of the top engineering colleges in Bihar. It is the 6th oldest engineering institute in India. The National Institute of Technology status was given to Bihar College of Engineering as it lost its only Regional College of Engineering (REC) situated in Jamshedpur after the separation of Jharkhand from Bihar in 2000. According to the National Institutes of Technology Act 2007, it has been granted the Institute of National Importance status. It also has accreditation from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

NIT Patna BTech cutoff 2024 has been released for round 1 on June 20, 2024. The cutoff has been released separately for all courses and different seat types. JoSAA has released the NIT Patna cutoff based on JEE Main in the form of opening and closing ranks. According to the round 1 cutoff, the NIT Patna JEE Main cutoff 2024 for the open category is 3956. Hostel and Mess
NIT Patna offers residential facilities to students at affordable rates. There are three hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. Each hostel has a central mess facility for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hostels have internet facilities for 24*7.
Computer Centre
There is a computer centre that is functioning since 2011. It provides central computing facilities to students and research scholars. There are 190 computers with an uninterrupted internet supply. The centre has 7 labs for students and one lab is exclusively meant for PhD scholars. The centre has a virtual classroom.
Central Library
The central library of the institute contains 75000 books catering to the needs of its students. There are 10000 books on the computer. The library keeps business and current affair-related magazines, pamphlets and journals. The central library is fully automated and all operations are guided by the Libsys- Library Automation Software. The library has a wide range of e-resources.
Sports Facilities
There are sports facilities available at NIT Patna. The institute encourages students to take part in sports activities. There are a tennis court, basket ball court, and badminton courts. Students can participate in inter-college tournaments and matches.
